Open access era underway for The Journal of ExtraCorporeal Technology

Previously, we reported that the American Society of ExtraCorporeal Technology (AmSECT) had chosen EDP Sciences to publish The Journal of ExtraCorporeal Technology (JECT) as a ‘Gold’ open access journal. Now, publication is proceeding on the same quarterly schedule as before, and the first issue of this open access era is available online.

In his first Editorial since the transition, A brand-new era has begun for JECT, Dr. Raymond K Wong says “Last November, we announced some important changes for the Journal of Extra-Corporeal Technology. The moment has arrived! As of this issue, JECT is now Open Access!”.

Articles in the first issue include:

• Adult Clinical Perfusion Practice Survey: 2020 results
• Association of postoperative atrial fibrillation with higher dosing ratios of protamine-to-heparin
• Haematic antegrade repriming to enhance recovery after cardiac surgery from the perfusionist side
• Foundations of a life support equipment exchange platform: ELSO supplies

Articles are published open access under a Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 license with the copyright belonging to the authors. They are all available via the JECT website in HTML, PDF or ePUB format.

For anyone who prefers a more interactive reading experience, a digital flipbook is also available.
